Zhao Shang Yi Dun, also known as China Merchants Yi Dun, set sail from Shanghai International Cruise Port on Sunday to Japan.

The 15-day round-trip, carrying over 600 passengers, will visit nine destinations in Japan including Osaka, Nagasaki, Nagoya, Kagoshima and Hiroshima.

Zhao Shang Yi Dun will sail nine 15-day cruises offering the same itinerary during July through October this year.

The former Viking Sun sailed a three-day cruise from Shanghai in March which signalled the restart of Shanghai cruise homeporting after a three-year shutdown.
