Carnival Paradise rescues 27 people in a boat adrift off Cuba

Carnival Paradise took the people who were adrift on board, and provided food and a medical check
Carnival Paradise on Sunday afternoon rescued 27 Cuban nationals adrift at sea and signaling for assistance.

The Carnival Cruise Line ship, which sailed from Tampa on Saturday, was off the west coast of Cuba en route to Roatán.

Food and a medical check

The Carnival Paradise bridge team spotted the vessel and turned the ship around to render assistance. The Cubans were taken aboard, given food and were seen by the medical team. 

The US Coast Guard Sector Key West was notified, as well as Roatán officials.

Carnival Paradise is scheduled to arriva at Roatán's Mahogany Bay on Monday.
