Marketing - Seatrade Cruise Sector reporting to Global Head of Marketing based in the UK
Role Summary:
To be responsible for developing and maintaining the global cruise marketing strategies and promotional plans to meet agreed company objectives.
To support the global cruise sales teams in meeting their objectives, through all elements of the marketing mix.
To evaluate cruise customer research, global market conditions, competitor data and incorporate in marketing plans and materials.
Key Responsibilities:
Responsible for the marketing of all Seatrade cruise events and online products, meeting delegate and visitor targets set and supporting sales efforts.
Developing individual product marketing plans and campaigns in conjunction with the sales and management teams.
Delivering all marketing activity within agreed budgets, whilst monitoring and reporting progress as appropriate.
Creating copy & content for marketing material and online promotion, managing all aspects of design, print production and distribution.
Achieving frequent, timely and positive media coverage across all relevant sector titles and electronic platforms.
Conducting market research in order to identify market requirements for current and future products.
Identifying and developing potential strategic partner relationships with supporting organisations / industry associations.
Database selections for mailing of literature in conjunction with database manager.
Managing all promotional e-mail campaigns and ensuring that all websites are up-to-date.
Writing and distributing press releases, together with managing external PR companies where appropriate.
Working with the corporate marketing manager on cross selling / promotional opportunities
Setting up barters for advertising with other publications in conjunction with the corporate marketing manager
Relationships and Roles:
To demonstrate the ability to interact and cooperate with all company employees, working particularly closely with sales and events teams.
To communicate effectively, drive execution, foster innovation, focus on delivery to customers, solve problems creatively and demonstrate high integrity.
To delegate and mentor support work and small projects to the marketing assistant
Proactively establish and maintain effective working team relationships with all support departments.
To keep the Head of Marketing informed and up-to-date with all strategic initiatives and key activities.
Skills and Experience:
Graduate level preferred, with or studying towards a CIM Diploma or Certificate.
A good background in commercial marketing, preferably in the events/media industry.
Experience within the cruise or maritime sector would be advantageous.
Experience of developing, maintaining and delivering on marketing strategies to meet company objectives.
A strong understanding of customer and market dynamics and requirements.
A willingness to travel and attend overseas events, sometimes at weekends.
A proven ability to oversee all marketing, advertising and promotional activities.
