Academia Barilla guest chef, pre-/post-cruise tours for Atlas

Atlas Ocean Voyages partnered with Italy's Academia Barilla for select 2024 epicurean expeditions aboard World Traveller.

Cruisers will get to engage with Academia Barilla guest chef Marcello Zaccaria during four cruises in May, June and July. Pre- and post-cruise experiences will also be available at Academia Barilla's kitchen in Parma.

Italian tradition

Barilla, with almost 150 years of tradition, is known for its food products, from pasta to sauce to baked goods. Academia Barilla is dedicated to amplifying the benefits of the Mediterranean lifestyle and Italian cuisine. Its chefs offer classes to professionals and food enthusiasts.

Academia Barilla will provide pasta immersion courses on select expeditions. Passengers can take part in chef-led live cooking demonstrations, workshops and interactive sessions. These will showcase Barilla’s premium Al Bronzo pasta.

Land program

The pre- or post-cruise 'Academia Barilla: Into Italy Land Program' offers activities including a cooking experience, a guided tour of a Parma ham producer with a tasting, lunch at a restaurant in the hills of Parma and a visit to an estate producing lambrusco and traditional balsamic vinegar in the hills of Reggio-Emilia.

The epicurean expeditions featuring Academia Barilla's Zaccaria include the May 27 nine-night cruise from Nice to Venice, the June 14 10-night cruise from Piraeus to Venice, the July 15 nine-night Piraeus to Civitavecchia (Rome) sailing and the 12-night Civitavecchia to Piraeus July 24 cruise.
